LIONHEADS - a fascinating
little breed. Originating overseas, these lovable lions are
currently in development in the U.S. The Current Certificate of
Development (COD's) can be found
here. Breeders are
working hard to get the breed passed with the American Rabbit
Breeders Association (ARBA).
It takes 3 successful presentations to be accepted. Gail Gibbons is
our current COD holder.
In the
meantime, we can still show our Lionheads and receive show awards
(BOB, BOSB, BOV, BOSV) as well as participate in the Sweepstakes
program offered by the
NALRC.

Heather & Mr.
Tubbs - 1st time Showmanship - 3rd
My daughter, Heather, joined 4H in the Fall of 2007 and it was at
one of our first meetings that another member brought an entire
carrier full of little Lionheads. We were hooked, lined and sinkered.
We had to know more! You see, when the kits are small,
they can be quite fluffy and look more like a small cat or dog. Very
cute. Then they shed off their body wool and what's left is a
rabbit that has normal rabbit fur on the body and a lovely
lion-looking mane around the face. Gorgeous!
Heather gets her
very 1st BOB with Briony (bred by Cottownwood Corner) at the El
Dorado County Fair.

Agape's Lakota
Broken Tortoise
DOB: 3-21-08 |
HOLLAND LOP
This is Agape's
Lakota (aka Lucky). He belong's to my youngest daughter, Ashley. She
really wanted a bunny that was different from the Lionheads. She is
very excited about showing him next season. She says, "He's the
cutest, sweetest bunny in the whole entire world."
